This compilation is examining the years 1990 through 1995 in Spain's noisecore & grindnoise scene.
Almost of these bands used to record their stuff with a minimum of sources and the tape-recoder (in spanish -> 'grabadora' or 'radiocaset') as the main tool to capture the audio on their rehearsals, gigs and sessions.
Only a few of them used mixers or trackers but the spirit of DIY as well as the improvisation method was present on all of the recordings during this era.
Some of them on this compilation are not Noisecore or Noisegrind exactly but also Industrial, Experimental, Noise projects with common members with other Noisegrind bands on the scene, more in the electronic vein but still with the same spirit.
This compilation archives up to almost 100 bands into these styles. Of course, some of the bands being active during those years are not being featured because of lack of any of their recordings, but I dare to say that these are the most representative acts then and some more which are new to some of you.
A lot of the stuff included was taken off some old compilation tapes released back in the day. These tapes were:
- "Spanish Anal Noise" (Kolectivo T.D.T.)
- "Despojo De Ira Compilation"(Despojo De Ira Producciones)
- "Factory Of Noise Compilation" (Factory Of Noise)
- "Out Of Tune Compilation"(Olo Producciones)
- "Fuck You It's Noise Compilation" (Arcada Records)
- "Escroto Total" #1 & #2 (Kolectivo T.D.T. / P.O.G. Records / Z.D.P.)
- "Audio Terrorism Compilation" (Chaotic Noise Prod.)
Thanks to all the people involved on this scene then.
Compiled by Manuel M. Cubas during May 2007.
